Baby it’s cold outside

I haven’t blogged in a long time. This session lasted all of 22 minutes because it was 18 degrees. Alaska is brutal and beautiful all wrapped up in a pretty package. I like to keep kiddos in the car until absolutely necessary, so I can photograph parents first. Moms especially work very hard to make sure memories are captured and stored on a flash drive in the junk drawer. (Ooops, did I say that?) Lol…Anyway, BOTH parents work hard to get the family ready, and so I do my best to capture them! If you’ve been wanting to get those family photos done, now is the time! rodblog-2rodblog-3rodblog-4rodblog-5rodblog-6rodblog-7rodblog-8rodblog-9rodblog-10rodblog-11rodblog-12rodblog-13rodblog-14rodblog-15rodblog-16rodblog-17rodblog-18rodblog-19rodblog-20rodblog-21rodblog-22rodblog-23rodblog-24rodblog-25rodblog

A gorgeous vintage wedding in Girdwood, Alaska.

This blog is a little longer than others, but hey it’s family! Happy 1 month of wedded bliss to Megan and Jared!!!

It rained most of the day on July 25, 2016 at Raven Glacier Lodge. But it was a perfect day for Megan and Jared and all the friends and family who came out to witness their beautiful and intimate ceremony. Kinney SubmissionsKinney Submissions-13

There were so many personal touches and hand made items in this wedding. Megan’s dad, Craig hand carved the chilly pepper ring holder “7-25-16 J & M”. And keep scrolling for the jaw dropping hand crafted arbor. Craig  and his beautiful wife Conita designed and decorated the work of art!

#lauratyedtheknot at Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge

On June 11, Laura & Tye tied the knot at Majestic Valley Wilderness Lodge. WHAT a view! It was meant to rain that day, 70% chance to be exact, but there were definitely a lot of prayers said. The clouds even opened up at the moment we tried round two of the bride and groom’s portraits. It just couldn’t have been a more perfect day for these two. Enjoy their memories!

A Beautiful Homer Family

We always look forward to visiting Homer, it’s such a beautiful harbor town. Amanda’s call 6 months prior about taking their photos in Homer was perfect, it meant this year’s trip would have to happen, no cancelations! The kind of family sessions where families just get to relax and enjoy their home/town, are the absolute BEST! Enjoy! BarthblogBarthblog-45Barthblog-2Barthblog-3Barthblog-4Barthblog-5Barthblog-6Barthblog-7Barthblog-8Barthblog-9Barthblog-10Barthblog-11Barthblog-13Barthblog-14Barthblog-15Barthblog-16Barthblog-17Barthblog-18Barthblog-19Barthblog-20Barthblog-21Barthblog-22Barthblog-24Barthblog-26Barthblog-27Barthblog-29Barthblog-30Barthblog-31Barthblog-32Barthblog-33Barthblog-34Barthblog-35Barthblog-36Barthblog-37Barthblog-38Barthblog-39Barthblog-40Barthblog-41Barthblog-42Barthblog-43Barthblog-44

Michelle & Aaron get Mauied

Michelle and Aaron were married on January 20th at Gannon’s Restaurant in Wailea, Maui. They contacted me on a brisk September day, wondering if I had an opening for an engagement session. I was booked, but I offered to get them in after another family the next evening. As their session was wrapping up I asked them if they already had a wedding photographer. They said they were getting married in Hawaii and would most likely use a photographer there. I responded with a wink and something like, “well just so you know, Tommy and I love shooting Hawaiian weddings, and are willing to travel.” About a week later, before seeing their photos they called and took me up on my offer! What a treat these two are, I am so glad they asked, and I’m thrilled we could accept! Josh & Janice are married!!

Janice and Josh were referred to me from a mutual friend. They asked if we would be willing to fly to Montana….OF CORSE!

Their rehearsal dinner was spectacular! After a BBQ style dinner at Gates of the Mountains, friends and family boarded the boat for a guided tour, and a quick jump in the lake, for some!) The views were simply breath taking!

Saturday, June 20th was the big day at the Governor’s Mansion in Helena. Josh and Janice did an amazing job of planning a wedding from Alaska and hosting their many family and friends who came from all over to share their big day with them.

Enjoy!

An Evening with the Emersons

This is the third time I’ve captured the Emerson family. The first time mom was pregnant with her littlest. I absolutely LOVE being a lifetime photographer. Families grow, and change, and find their groove as time goes by. With each session I’m able to see little quirks, and looks, and hear certain giggles that make me feel like apart of the family for a moment. Family photos are super fun and fast, yet very intimate and delicate. Enjoy this one!!
