An Estes Park Wedding

The Black Canyon Inn and Twin Owls Steakhouse were GREAT hosts! What an incredibly beautiful venue! I hope you enjoy!

I met up with Vicki and Ben on a windy day at Beluga Point, in Anchorage, Alaska. We were scheduled for an engagement session, 20 minutes later, we were walking back to the car and after finding out they were to be married in Estes Park the following May, I told them that I travel for weddings. After posting a sneak peak of their e-session, they asked me to be their photographer. YES!

After meeting Ben and Vicki’s family it made sense why they seemed like they had been married for years already, why they treated one another with the utmost respect and have a quiet confidence about them. They come from ‘good stock’! What a precious group of people that surrounded them on their special day!

An Alaskan Engagement

Meeting clients for the first time, and then clicking the shutter about 5 minutes later is what I do.

To build trust and have someone feel relaxed within that time frame is a skill, some of it’s learned, and some of it is definitely a God given gift that I don’t take for granted.

These two were willing to come a little earlier than planned to work around weather, and they were so comfortable with each other, that capturing their joy and love for each other was pretty simple! janet & Mark-9janet & Mark-2janet & Mark-10janet & Mark-11janet & Mark-6janet & Mark-8janet & Mark-7janet & Mark-4janet & Mark-5janet & Mark-3janet & MarkTowards the end, they brought out the pups for some family photos!

A gorgeous vintage wedding in Girdwood, Alaska.

This blog is a little longer than others, but hey it’s family! Happy 1 month of wedded bliss to Megan and Jared!!!

It rained most of the day on July 25, 2016 at Raven Glacier Lodge. But it was a perfect day for Megan and Jared and all the friends and family who came out to witness their beautiful and intimate ceremony. Kinney SubmissionsKinney Submissions-13

There were so many personal touches and hand made items in this wedding. Megan’s dad, Craig hand carved the chilly pepper ring holder “7-25-16 J & M”. And keep scrolling for the jaw dropping hand crafted arbor. Craig  and his beautiful wife Conita designed and decorated the work of art!

Michelle & Aaron get Mauied

Michelle and Aaron were married on January 20th at Gannon’s Restaurant in Wailea, Maui. They contacted me on a brisk September day, wondering if I had an opening for an engagement session. I was booked, but I offered to get them in after another family the next evening. As their session was wrapping up I asked them if they already had a wedding photographer. They said they were getting married in Hawaii and would most likely use a photographer there. I responded with a wink and something like, “well just so you know, Tommy and I love shooting Hawaiian weddings, and are willing to travel.” About a week later, before seeing their photos they called and took me up on my offer! What a treat these two are, I am so glad they asked, and I’m thrilled we could accept!
